The zone map changes on January 1, 2027.
This checks the 8,764 census tracts designated as Opportunity Zones in 2018. Those designations end on December 31, 2026. A new set of zones, drawn on 2020 census tracts, starts January 1, 2027; states nominated them this fall and the U.S. Treasury is certifying them through about late December 2026. Until that list is published, the 2027 column reads Pending.
Being inside a zone is one requirement among several. This is a location check, not tax advice: confirm any investment with your tax adviser.
Check properties
Columns we look for: an address (one Address column, or Street, City, State, ZIP), Sq Ft (also SF, Building SF, RBA, Size), and optionally Name, Price, or Latitude/Longitude. Exports from CoStar, Crexi or LoopNet usually work as they are.
Street plus either City and State, or ZIP, is enough.
See every Opportunity Zone in an area, outlined on a map. Free. Zone outlines come from HUD's map layer (hosted by Esri); the background map from OpenStreetMap.
ZIP areas are the Census Bureau's ZIP Code areas, which closely follow postal ZIPs but don't match them exactly. Zones in Guam, the Northern Marianas, American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands have no ZIP areas; find them by county.
These are the 2018 zones, which end December 31, 2026. The 2027 map is still being certified and may drop some of these tracts or add others. Check the 2027 status before committing to a deal that closes next year.

Every property (parcel) inside the zone, not just ones for sale: address, owner, land use, building size, lot size, last sale. Data from Regrid. Counting is free; loading uses records from the Remont Regrid plan, so narrow by land use and lot size first. The sq ft filter applies after loading.

"Likely, check address" means the Census Bureau matched the address only approximately. Addresses on a street that forms a tract boundary can also land in the neighbouring tract, so confirm close calls on the CDFI Fund's official map.
